A txt from County Recorder Steve Haynes alerted me to the report of a Great White Egret at nearby Marsh Lane,so with a few spare hrs before my shift Donna & myself headed over & were soon watching this majestic bird from the reed bed pool just off the causeway!! Light was tricky so decided to try for a few different shots..............

Headed down to Norfolk finally with Tom Perrins & Jules Allen along with Donna for the Great Knot a species I'd dipped on nearly 20 yrs ago up North we arrived on site at Scolt head & had poor views but tickable at distance but it certainly laid a ghost to rest!! We then spent several hrs at nearby Titchwell with the usual goodies + the odd Little Gull,Sandwich & Little Tern & a very obliging Spotted Redshank before heading to Gore Point,Holme when news filtered thru that the Great Knot had flown in!! This time we had great scope views, well worth waiting around for also a Turtle Dove was a bonus.......

Again stayed local with a Long-tailed Duck turning up in the week at Alvecote Pools,Warks we headed over on the Sat morning where the bird was distant on the far shore but a quick call to Archie Archer with his local knowledge soon had us on the right track where we had cracking views of a good Warks bird & a Lifer for Donna with a bonus flyover Osprey.......

Sunday morning was spent at Donna's local patch at Trittiford,Solihull  photographing Beautiful Demoiselle where we had at least 3 male & 1 female a good local record & great find by Donna.....
