April 30th - May 1st 2016

Bank holiday weekend,we started off on Cannock Chase,Staffs hoping for a few Summer migrants, still very quiet on the chase but did manage Cuckoo,2 Common Redstart & superb views of Tree Pipit (My best ever views of these birds with 1 very confiding bird)

We then headed back into familiar grounds heading for Middleton Lakes & then onto Ladywalk NR picking up good views of Blackcap,Lesser Whitethroat,Sedge Warbler etc & a fine Pied Flycatcher (female ) at Ladywalk (Donna's 1st in Warks)

On the Sunday we again stayed local with Marsh Lane NR having a SP Black-tailed Godwit before getting news of a Pied Flycatcher (male) on my local patch of Seeswood Pool (only the 2nd ever record & 1st ad male last being a 1st winter way back in 2004)
