With not much being reported we decided on yet another trip to Gloucester hoping for 3rd time lucky... We arrived on site about 8:45 just as the Bumbling Bears (Jon,Dave & Pete) were leaving they'd had the birds which had been very active but had lost sight of them when they flew over to the hawthorns at the south end, for the nxt 2+ hrs we searched but our only reward were 4+ Chiffchaff & 4 Stonechat! We were just about to give up when the 2 birds flew in from high North! We were then treated to good views before they flew into hawthorns directly behind us & for the nxt 1/2 hr gave brilliant views & even treated us to calls & song.........
27th & 29th February 2016
On the Saturday Donna & myself again headed down to Gloucester for another look at the Penduline Tits at Horsebere Flood Storage Pool the birds showed well but again were distant & with many people watching I couldn't see that changing but still managed a cpl of record shots....
On the monday morning we headed over to Middleton lakes RSPB to have a look for the Great White Egret which was showing on the Hall lake the previous evening before going to roost!! We pulled up & luckily the bird was again present on the lake before heading back to the heronry where we had cracking views.........
